The first day of retirement

And, finally, the first day of retirement. A million scattered lists and notes, yesterday - outside, hot, warm and golden colors strewn upon the street, the staff have bid me adieu, I'll be back, there are large parties and I've committed to one next week, but really I'm done.

And on this, the first day of retirement, cold, big gobs of snow falling from the sky, the first day of my forgotten life coincidentally the first day of winter, a few last minute thoughts before I begin...
