(Handing out candy so time for a couple of festive Halloween/horror movies) 

Persian film, 2016, set during the Iran/Iraq conflict of the 80's. The premise, a mother and daughter are haunted by Djinn - is underscored by the everyday horrors of their government and war. This was good. And intertwining the socio/political/religious themes with demonology of the Arabic world is brilliant.

This was good.

This was recommended, and - while it had it's moments - overall it's a "NOPE"

Too much exposition. I don't need to know why or have a complete psychological profile to understand the psycho's motives. 

I don't think movies always need motivations, back stories, especially horror films, sometimes I just want a Kook with knife...
