The Internet Archive

It doesn't end at Wikipedia, but too often I find I'm in the habit of finding one source for the information I want and not digging further.

The Internet Archive is a site "with the purpose of offering permanent access for researchers, historians, and scholars to historical collections that exist in digital format.". It kind of recalls the ideals of the internet, doesn't it? Link here: http://www.archive.org/index.php

Missing Persons

There is something about people vanishing that is unnerving - Murder is one thing, but to disappear without a trace, well, that's quite another. Here are 2 wikipedia links - the first an article on unexplained disappearances, the second a list of people who have "mysteriously" disappeared . And, to show that such mysteries often happen closer to home, and more often than we'd like, here's a link to the RCMP Alberta Website for missing people. Many of them suggest obvious solutions, but there are a few that seem to defy any formulaic solutions. . .And, perhaps most chilling, for almost every missing person listed there is someone who knows what became of them. . .
