Election Day
Election Day - nobody to vote for and everybody to vote against. Politicians were in the building the other day, rapping on doors, trying to put a friendly face on incompetence and broken promises - the crackheads in the alley are generally a whole lot more likable. And while I have to vote it grieves me that regardless of the outcome, all outcomes are poor.

The Art of Self Defense - Review
Peculiar, strange, surreal and darkly comedic. Proof of what an excellent script can do, and - while there were expenses for sure, it's not inconceivable that it could be shot on an extremely low budget. 5 Stars.

The Waves at Botanical Beach

A 27 second meditation. The sound is very relaxing. Filmed the waves coming in over the rocks at Botanical Beach, north of Port Renfrew, remembered it from my childhood, then didn't remember it at all, but loved it nonetheless.

The Thingery
Spotted this around the corner from Oso Negro in Nelson - The Thingery. A lending library for things. I've thought of the same for Calgary, for any suburb where you have the endless repetition of leafblowers, snowblowers, rakes, shovels, commonly used garden tools - who's common usage might amount to 4 or 5 outings per year - makes more sense than everyone in the neighborhood filling up their garages with the same, mostly unused tools.
But in Nelson someone had the bright idea and it gets done.
