Which proves to be good, and confirms some of my observations and speculations about his music. That said, no one has done more covers of Andrew Bird songs than Andrew Bird has, he reinvents every one for pretty much every tour. So if you're expecting to hear a favorite song, that may happen, but it might not be the way you like.
Personally, I'm a big fan of tenuousness done live in the basement.

Killing time between theatrical events today the boy and I see Rampart, movie playing at The Plaza in Calgary about a bad cop turned worse, starring Woody Harrelson. Good, but bleak as all out. So - how to recommend a film that makes you want to throw out the entire police force (because, sad to say, I've met a few that this film would persuade me is more the tale of the norm than the unusual)?. It's good, well directed, well acted, and very true to life, but it's bleak. Bleak bleak bleak...

The boys film pick of the day, I'd wanted to see it and so was pretty glad he suggested it, I wasn't too keen on listening to French Impressionist Music either.
Canadian made, documentary, various second rate and unidentified experts pontificating on the mess the IMF has gotten the world into, a plea for a change of thinking and politics. Margaret Atwood, David Suzuki, Jane Goodall amongst others.
I'm sympathetic and in agreement, that's the thing about these films, they're always preaching to the choir, the people who see them already share their POV, values, the seeing of the film only cements and confirms why we believe the things we do. Not challenging, no new information, stock footage culled from a variety of sources making it look a bit patchy, the plot - or the development of the theme - a bit uneven, probably a good thing to make high school students watch, but hardly a film to demand paid admission.
