1 mouse to go
No sooner had I posted last night then a tiny mouse lowered itself from the drawer in the kitchen to work on the chew. Not interested in the trap yet. And it goes to prove the adage that "You shouldn't count your mice when you can't see them", or something of that nature.

I Found You!
I’ve found you.
Not that I’ve been looking, the antivirus was running on my computer, it's taking forever, but I’ve googled you and others that I’ve known over the years. Not just girlfriends, old friends from the U of A, Louis St. Laurent in Edmonton, Vanier and St. Agnes in Moose Jaw. Curious as to what’s become of the people I’ve known in my life. I would google more if my memory was better, but then maybe I remember only what I am meant to. Or, more likely, I remember what was important.
It’s surprising how few people you find, even now in the information age.
I googled you, late at night waiting for the antivirus to finish it’s thing. I googled you, couldn’t find you, it’s always been like this and I’ve wondered where you are, what you’re up to, and why I couldn't find you on google, yahoo, seemed you should be somewhere, and so I googled you again, different keywords, I don’t have your married name but I’d heard you were divorced, that was a long time ago – 7, maybe 8 years. The funny thing is that the harder you are to find, the harder I try, the more curious I become. And so I gave it a couple of more tries, there were other people to google, and on the last try (always the last try – it only makes sense) I found you.

A mouse-free house
2 days now since the last mouse was relocated, the children have gone home to their mothers. It's probably too early to say, from the corners of my eyes I still catch little movements, phantoms of the mice that have gone into the great outdoors, but no traps have been sprung. There have been no rustlings from the garbage, no scrapings from the walls, no chewing from the cupboards, I think that may be it.
The house is as quiet as the grave.
I will post later, there is much to write about tonight, but it will take me some hours to gather and organize my thoughts.

Malwarebytes 4, Norton 0
Last night, yet again, I notice the task manager has been disabled by the administrator. Yet another virus. And so update my definitions and do a scan with Norton Antivirus, but it finds nothing. Time: 2 hours. But my task manager is disabled, and this is trouble.
And so I do another scan with Malwarebytes, find 4 viruses, remove them. Humourously about halfway through the scan Norton tells me I have a virus (having just done a complete system scan and come up empty handed) - a little like a guard dog barking at it's owner to tell him his house has been robbed. The Task Manager is still disabled, I check group policy, settings are fine. I reset it, this seems to fix the issue of bringing up the task manager. The Windows Online fix-tool does nothing to allow me to access it. I have no idea where these viruses came from, but suspect that perhaps they came from the files on the other PC I fixed (and temporarily copied to my PC.). Internet Explorer has crashed 3 times this morning, despite my being unable to find any active processes or startup items that might be virus related, the reporting tool advises me that it's a windows issue and I should get used to it.
I suppose I should just get used to it. I'm on the computer a lot, maybe I should budget time for fixing these issues, or just realize that it's windows and they'll never be fixed, and be grateful I didn't succumb to all the hype about Vista and think of how things could be worse...
Now to scan it with AdAware.
