The Dreams of Dion McGregor
Since my dreams are erratic and occasionally nonsensical I thought I'd put you onto someone elses dreams...Dion McGregor, a Somniloquist Extraordinaire whose dreams were recorded by bemused flatmates and made into records.
Not my dreams, by a long shot, but nonetheless amusing and intriguing...
Make sure you listen to at least one...

Go for a run...
A beautiful day, semi-productive, don't want to set unrealistic expectations, postponed, postponed, finally, it's time to go for a run...
I've some athletic looking shoes. They've got the Nike Swoosh, they will suffice.
Leave the apartment, onto the street, begin running...
...clearly these are not the shoes, hitting the pavement, every step jarring my very fabric of being, I raise myself up, run upon the balls of my feet...
2 blocks...I generously estimate .15 KM. Stop, walk, catch my breath...pass the enduring fitness buffs, acknowledge, yeah, this is mile 48 for me, Ironman coming up...another block or two, start again...
The full marathon, maybe .3 KM. Clearly I need to quit smoking, and my legs hurt for days afterwards...

I get it, the NDP are evil, the Alberta Advantage is no longer, but I'm hard pressed to guess how the Conservatives would have handled it differently. And he's complaining to me, more than a full order of magnitude difference in our incomes, his 50K$ extra taxes, that's my entire years earnings, I get it, it's a lot, but that's a bit like me complaining to the homeless guy under the bridge that I can only afford 2 bottles of Vodka tonight, not 3...
When the days of Anarchy come, we will run them to the ground with hounds...

DERTS
This from my father. Apparently the U of A is starting a "Diamond Exploration and Research Training School". Clearly I have some pretty mixed feelings about this, I could definitely benefit from a bit more knowledge, but I don't like the idea of informed competition. Still, it proves my suspicions, you don't operate a forestry management program in the desert, or a mountain climbing program in Saskatchewan, the fact they want to train people suggests they know we're close to the source...
