counter-protestors

It's been a while since I've caught up with the news, this from the Calgary Herald headlines this morning: 

"Red Deer anti-racism protest turns violent as counter-protesters crash rally   ...   As Black Lives Matter supporters and anti-racism protesters stood face-to-face with counter-protesters..."

I've linked the whole thing to their dogshit article. The Calgary Herald is so far from reputable journalism it isn't funny. What, exactly, is a "counter-protestor"? Maybe "Racist" or "Karen" or "Police Officer" or "Fascist" would have saved them some typeface...but figuring that out would have required some investigative skills that none of their editors possess...
